Host Sonoma State gave itself an early Christmas present with a 61-58 victory over Chico State on Saturday. Scoring over half his team's points, senior guard James Davis exploded for 33 points for the Seawolves, shooting 12-22, 7-13 and 2-3 respectively.
For the Wildcats, backcourter Robert Duncan produced a double-double of 27 points plus 12 boards. But 22 turnovers haunted Chico.
