Catching up on Tyler Idowu

"A once promising season has turned south for the Saint Martin’s University men’s basketball team, losers of six straight and eight of its last 10.

A bright spot for the Saints (5-14, 2-7 GNAC) is Rodriguez High grad Tyler Idowu, who’s led the team in scoring five times and in rebounding on six occasions.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound senior forward’s best game was a double-double – 18 points and 14 rebounds, both season highs – in a 73-67 loss to Rollins College on Dec. 17.

He’s fourth on the team in scoring at 8.8 points and tops in rebounding at 5.4 per game. He also leads the Saints in blocked shots with 15.

In last week’s games, Idowu had 12 points, seven rebounds and a block in a 64-61 loss to Western Washington and 12 points, five rebounds and a block in a 97-87 loss to Simon Fraser."

He's out of Merritt College and Rodriguez High.
