"...[Arthur] Caldwell was again named the most valuable player for the GVC after averaging 20 points per game, best among Butte. The sophomore forward with a varied offensive game was the MVP last year as a freshman. He was an all-state selection as well.
Joining Caldwell on the all-GVC team were guard Jud Sailsbery and forward Michael Shoemaker. The two area standouts used to battle at the high school level. They then found it pretty easy to succeed together at Butte. Sailsbery was a four-year standout at Orland High while Shoemaker was the same for Corning High. The sophomore Sailsbery led Butte in 3-pointers and assists. Shoemaker, a freshman, teamed with Caldwell to give the Roadrunners more talent up front than their foes could handle and led the team in blocks.
Nikolas Petruk, who played through injuries for much of the season but still gave Butte a versatile player, made the all-GVC second team..."
