Host St. Mary's gave the Zags their best, leading 40-29 at halftime, before falling back and losing 70-60 on Saturday. The last few Gael possessions either weren't good looks or were shots taken by the wrong people in the wrong areas as Gonzaga, in contrast, finished with a number of high-percentage shot attempts.
Brad Waldow was out front with 19 points but required an uncharacteristic 20 shots to achieve his scoring total. He also corralled 11 boards.
