At least in the coaching ranks of California Community College men's basketball.
Yes, Devin Aye is now the head coach of the men's basketball program at Lassen College, joining brother Tyson (Imperial Valley College) and father Denny (Chabot College).
In an interview on Monday, Aye offered that the people up in Susanville "love their basketball and often fill up the gym."
He's familiar with the area and the program from when his father headed the Columbia College team from 1985 to 1994, posting a 247-65 record.
:"I've always had my eye on the Lassen job," he explained.
One aspect that will be working in Aye's favor is "Lassen has on-campus housing available for students and that makes attending there extremely affordable."
He added, "it's a great place for kids to escape the inner city, where they can focus on academics and in developing themselves as basketball players."
Because of the school's location and the population base in the surrounding area, Aye will be able to recruit outside of California and a policy of allowing access to student-athletes from Nevada is hopefully going to be re-implemented. Within California, it's still a matter of prospective players making the initial contact.
Aye's Bay Area name recognition should also prove beneficial.
Congratulations to the newest member of California Community College head coaching.
