The Dakarai Allen lovefest

Speaking of bromances...

Van Coleman rhapsodizes about DA who is at the Pangos event this weekend: "Dakari Allen 6-5 WF Sacramento, CA Sheldon - One of the surprise performers, he knocked down jumpers inside the arc, showed he can drive and finish in traffic, but it was his defense that created a couple major throwdowns that had people buzzing. One to watch if he can build on last night's efforts"

and

Evan Daniels chimes in: "Defensively, Dakarai Allen is a step ahead of most wings in the 2013 class. He took it upon himself to guard Shaqquan Aaron in the second of their game and put a stop to his scoring. The next step is developing some consistency and confidence on the offensive end"

and

Then the folks at Hoopniks: "Dakarai Allen, 6′-5″, 2013, SF, Sheldon (CA): In the typical camp environment, fast break offense, uncontested long-range shots and selfish play are the norm. Allen stood out, perhaps because he was among the more focused and effort-giving defenders in the gym. With long arms and a constant motor, Allen found himself inducing turnovers on the defensive end and forcing opponents into foolish play. Allen is a good athlete and a great team asset"

and

Edward Lewis concludes with: "Dakarai Allen said once Ben Howland sees he can shoot the 3-ball, an offer could be on its way. He enjoyed the ‪UCLA‬ visit yesterday too"

It's past time that Howland get back to tough-as-nails backcourter and wings who will defend against the ball first and foremost on the outside. Can you say Aaron Afflalo?
