Tyler Idowu signs

Merritt College basketballer Tyler Idowu has signed to play next season at St. Martin's University under Coach Keith Cooper. SMU is located in Lacey, Washington.

Here's Cooper talking about Idowu:

Idowu was listed as one of the top-100 junior college players on the West coast. Cooper compared Idowu to Blake Poole, a former All-American forward at SMU. 

“Tyler is a double-double like guy who is similar to Blake Poole ,” Cooper said. “He's 6-5 but plays bigger. He's a strong, athletic kid who attacks the rim. He has a good feel for going to get the ball as a rebounder.”

The former Rodriguez High frontcourter averaged 11 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season for Merritt Coach Keenan McMiller, shooting 53% while blocking 27 shots.

St. Martin is in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, home of Western Washington, the 2012 D-II national champions.
