What's the story with the usage of Marquette's Juan Anderson?

Former Castro Valley High and Oakland Rebel talent Juan Anderson is in his second year at Marquette, which is currently a Big East member and coached by the much-lauded Buzz Williams.

This season, Anderson has started 19 of 23 games but is averaging just under 15 minutes an outing as well as 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest. He is shooting 36% overall, while standing fourth on the team in blocked shots and fifth in steals.

10 Golden Eagle players are on the court for double digit minutes averages in 2012-13, with Anderson ranking eighth in playing time.

Against Georgetown on February 11, Anderson played 15 minutes. Versus DePaul two days earlier, he saw 11 minutes of action. In a February 6 matchup with South Florida it was 11 minutes, preceded by 10 minutes opposing Louisville on February 3. In late January, he earned 22 minutes against South Florida.

Anyway, you get the drift.

So Anderson starts, which generally means 25 or so minutes of court time will be coming your way each night, but doesn't play all that much after his opening up the game.

Anyone have any insight regarding this unusual usage?
