Cabrillo's Gruber earns Coast Conference South MVP award
Cabrillo College sophomore guard Colin Gruber was selected as the Coast Conference South MVP. The 6'-foot-5 Harbor High graduate and Northern Arizona transfer, averaged 15.1 points per game and 8.6 rebounds and lead the Seahawks to a third straight Coast Conference South Championship. Gruber is the third consecutive Cabrillo player to be named MVP following Markus Duran 2010, Tyler Velasquez 2011.
Dalton Noble was selected to the Second Team All-Coast Conference South division. Noble averaged 16.3 points in conference, shooting nearly 37% from the three-point line (48-133). The sophomore guard from Salt lake City, UT was one of the key reasons Cabrillo was able to be successful.
Also, Cabrillo center/forward C.J. Grigg was named Honorable Mention All-Coast Conference South. Grigg, a 6-foot-7 sophomore from Reno, averaged 6.8 points and 8.0 rebounds a game. Grigg and Noble both finish a two-year career with two Conference South Championships and total record of 22-2.
