Multiple honors for Brian Goins

Former Diablo Valley College star backcourter Brian Goins, now at Cal State University San Bernardino, was honored thrice recently. From the CSUSB athletics site:

"The Concord native was a first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association choice and named the conference's Newcomer of the Year. He averages 15.7 points a game and has scored in double figures in 22 of his 26 games and scored 20 or more points in eight games"

Plus, Goins was named to the:

"Daktronics NCAA Division II West Region Men's Basketball second-team"

He scored 23 points in the West Regional tournament opening game on Friday to lead the Coyotes to a 75-69 victory over Dixie State.

CSUSB plays again on Wednesday.
