The white smoke in the air around Sacramento means that Malik Pope has made his choice and he's gone with San Diego State of the Mountain West Conference. That means he bypassed Gonzaga and most of the Pac-12 -- quite an impressive feat for the Aztec coaching staff.
Pope won't be playing for Laguna Creek High this season due to his re-injury but nobody seemed to back away despite his leg issues. Let's hope he gets back on the court early and often for Coach Steve Fisher.
