Praise for Delon Wright

Here's Tony Jones writing about the change in style of Utah basketball: "...A drastic change in personnel has precipitated the switch in tempo. There aren’t many guards who can penetrate and set players up like Delon Wright has in his first eight games. He’s averaging six assists per game and has become a terror in the open court..."

An interesting anecdote: I saw Wright play once last year and he definitely showed a keen eye for finding the open teammate but he also seemed to play on auto pilot rather than inspired. In talking with coaches about my impression, I was told that part of my take was because of Wright's smooth style and that the team CCSF was playing wasn't challenging -- the game was over early. The moral of the story: don't base any evaluation on a one-time viewing, ask others for their opinions and keep learning on what to look for and identify.
