* San Jose City College 83 - Las Positas College 64

From Las Positas Athletics:
The Hawks' first game in Livermore in 6 weeks wasn't the happy homecoming they were seeking Saturday.

San Jose City College, buoyed by an agressive zone defense and full-court press, stymied LPC, handing the Hawks an 83-64 non-conference loss.

In the first half, the cold-shooting Hawks (6-5) couldn't knock down many outside shots against San Jose's extended zone. However, they trailed only 38-27 at halftime.

In the second half, San Jose (7-5, ranked #15 in Northern California) led 47-31 before a mini-run by LPC cut the Jaguars' lead to 50-39. San Jose then scored 9 of the game's next 12 points, building its advantage to 57-42 midway through the second half.

Struggling against San Jose's full-court pressure, the Hawks saw their deficit grow to 65-46 with 7 minutes remaining and never threatened thereafter.

Davis Kimble, Steve Cazares, and Jacob Contreras scored 12 points each for LPC, which next plays at 3 p.m. Dec. 28 against Sierra in the Chabot Classic in Hayward.
