Host Cal State Monterey Bay took on visiting Cal State East Bay and won 89-83 on Saturday.
In the loss, Gabe Kindred led the Pioneers with 19 points (4-8 from long distance) while backcourt teammate Jacari Whitfield scored 16 and frontcourter Ryan Hebebrand posted a 13/12 double-double.
