"Friday night's Golden Empire League matchup was a little too close to comfort for the Marysville High boys basketball, but the Indians were able to escape with a victory.
Marysville edged Mesa Verde 49-45 in Citrus Heights to improve to 21-1 overall and 6-1 in GEL play. The Indians trailed by nine points at halftime, but held the Mavericks to just 15 points in the second half to come away victorious.
Senior center Erik Scheive had another huge game for the Indians with 19 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks. Point guard Danny Lewis added 10 points, seven assists and three steals."
