It was close but UC Irvine turned back UC Riverside 63-54 last night in the Big West Conference tournament and primarily due to a powerful performance of 17 points and 10 boards from Will Davis. For the Highlanders, Taylor Johns nailed his own double-double of 15 and 11 but he needed 18 shot attempts.
