Frank Burlison tweeted: "players/parents/groupies get off on them but: I know of no NBA GMs, Personnel Directors or coaches who give a rat's ass about "mixed tapes."
Here's an idea: have the person who is assembling your personal tape film a before and after scenario, like you being a minus defensively and then forwarding to six months later showing you giving a concentrated effort at disrupting your specific opponent's offensive play.
Document improvement. Show how far you have progressed in a number of different aspects and skill areas. Demonstrate how consequential of a player you are.
If you can break the ankles of defenders, display how you and your team benefit from that advantage. It's a two part equation -- what happened after that?
Like with a nasty dunk, it will get a rise out of fans in the stands but did it happen because you cherrypicked? Winning the moment in that situation also creates a 'don't touch/need this guy' reputation amongst coaches.
But if you haven't amped up your repercussion on a game, well, there's always the usual mix tape.
