The Seawolves bringing in a quartet of newcomers

"After a return to the CCAA Championship Tournament in 2015-16 following a two-year hiatus, the Sonoma State Men's Basketball Team is reloading with thoughts on yet another postseason trip.  This week, the Seawolves announced the addition of four student-athletes to a developing core of talent that has Head Coach Pat Fuscaldo and Associate Head Coach Rich Shayewitz optimistic about the future.

The Seawolves are excited to bring in high school senior Seth Cobb (Foothill HS), along with JC transfers Jackson Gion (Foothill CC), Jordan Hickman (Santa Rosa JC), and Jordan Fleck (Cypress CC).

"We lost a lot of scoring from last year's team, so we're hoping our new guys can help pick up some of the slack," said Fuscaldo, who is fully aware of the nearly 45 points per game contributed by last year's senior class of James Davis, David Ahern, Andy Mitchell, James Slade, and Michael Avery.  "We're really depending on these guys to provide some of the perimeter scoring that we relied on last year."

The Seawolves certainly won't rely on the four newcomers to supply all the scoring.  Fuscaldo has been encouraged by the continued improvement of the youth on last year's squad, plus the return of highly talented newcomer Stephen Dorsey, originally a member of the 2015-16 recruiting class.  "The young guys we have in the program are all improving.  We should have depth, we should have quickness, and we should have athleticism."

Entering his 23rd season in charge, Pat Fuscaldo has an all-time record of 295-295 overall and 227-215 in conference play.  The Seawolves have been to the CCAA Championship Tournament five times in the last eight years and won a league championship in 2005-06."
