A question to ask

Why is there but one homegrown northern California talent playing on any of the college teams listed in the latest Top 25?

That's Jordan Ford by the way.

Out of Prolific Prep, Josh Jackson also counts if high school graduates from this area are included.

Marcus Lee would be here if he was still at Kentucky. Aaron Gordon would be another had he remained at Arizona, the same for Elliott Pitts. Noah Allen could have remained at UCLA but would have been buried even deeper on the latest Bruin roster. Malik Pope would be listed if San Diego State was having a more typical season. Washington might be in the lower level of the Top 25 had Marquese Chriss remained in Seattle.

But of these, only Jackson is making any sort of noise at the moment.

Six "West Coast" teams are among the 25 so a decent number of roster spots at least to some degree are available.

So is the foremost factor a lack of higher level prospects coming out of high school? Or is the total skewed by transfers sitting out this season?
