On Saturday in the Southland, Cal State Northridge (Big West Conference) and Loyola Marymount (West Coast Conference) battled until the latter won in the last seconds 69-68. Darin (Sheldon High/Washington) Johnson and Kendall (Deer Valley High/UNLV) Smith each scored 16 points for the Matadors.
