"For the second time this year, California Baptist University's Michael Smith was named the PacWest Player of the Week.

Smith earned his second weekly conference honor by leading the No. 7-ranked Lancers to two big road wins, averaging 26.0 points and 4.5 assists per game. He recorded his second double-double of the year with 28 points and 10 rebounds in CBU's showdown with No. 18 Hawai'i Pacific to knock off the unbeaten Sharks, 80-70. He then had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists at Chaminade to snap the Silverswords' five-game winning streak.

The senior guard has scored at least 20 points in nine of his last 11 games, and ranks fifth in the nation in scoring (24.7 ppg)..."
