Down south, Chico State was engaged in a close one with Cal Poly Pomona but emerged a 51-50 victor on Friday. It was 19-18 for the Los Angeles County crew after 20 minutes but play heated up and Wildcats took the second half 33-31.
Both Robert (Granite Bay High) Duncan and Jordan (Arcata High) Semple totalled 11 points plus five boards and the latter pilfered three steals for Chico State.
