Below are scores from matchups yesterday involving northern California junior college teams:

* Cañada College 70, Monterey Peninsula College 64 box

The Colts were led by Rhondell (West High) Goodwin's 22 points. He shot 1-5 from long distance but 8-14 overall. Plus, he provided six rebounds and four assists. Teammate Manny Martin enjoyed a 17 point, 11 board double-double.

For MPC, Isaac (Independence High) Clark continued to roll with 22 points and teammate Will (St. Francis High) Burkett added 17.

* Yuba College 88 - Solano College 62

From Yuba College Men's Basketball: "Yuba wins league opener 88-62 over Solano College. Emmanuel Malou has 16 Pts and 14 rebs and Vasilje (Del Campo High) Saraba scores 21 and pulls down 11 rebounds. Great effort from the bench play of Barry Ogalue and Cedrick Thomas as well!"

* College of Marin 73 - Los Medanos College 61

From the Marin Independent Journal:

Willie Rooks scored a team-high 16 points, Pierre Carter added 15 points to pace the College of Marin men's basketball team to a 73-61 win against Los Medanos in its Bay Valley Conference opener.

"(Los Medanos) played a passive 2-3 zone so early on we were getting some looks but weren't making shots, settling for outside looks," COM coach Dave Granucci said. "It was 28-27 at half, we were up one. we talked about pushing the ball. Changing the pace ... any miss or turnover, we were pushing the ball."

Miller Blake scored 11 points for the Mariners (10-2, 1-0).
