It was close for about 12 minutes but then Utah State went on a points run and that was the game on Wednesday night as Utah State moved past short-handed San Jose State University 66-31.
Involving players from northern California:
* Chris (Yuba College) Smith scored 14 points for the Aggies, shooting 5-7 overall.
* Sean (Yuba College) Harris grabbed five rebounds in 14 minutes of play off the bench for USU.
* For SJSU, Ivan (Monterey Peninsula College) Basor corralled 11 boards. He played all 40 minutes.
