So did you envision Luc Mbah a Moute enjoying such a solid career in the NBA? He was a UCLA role player known for his defense first and rebounding second with very little offensive skills on display.

Mbah a Moute has certainly done so and will enjoy a solid 10 or so year NBA career. Producing points isn't a necessity if you can have plus ability in a couple of other areas AND understand/accept your role.
