JC scores from last night

Below are the scores from last night's matchups involving northern California JC teams:

* Yuba College 102 - College of Alameda 71

* Santa Rosa Junior College 77 - Modesto Junior College 65

It was Parker Farris Is One With The Rim Night for SRJC as the sophomore from Humboldt State tallied 22 points on 8-9 overall shooting, 6-7 from long distance. Teammate Corey (Cardinal Newman High) Hammell produced 16 points plus 10 boards and Davone (Castlemont High) Oliver was big with 16 points (5-8 from beyond the arc) and six assists.

* Sierra College 100 - San Joaquin Delta College 94 box

For SJDC, point Jordan (Lodi High) Belasco doubled up with 26 points and 11 assists as did Troy (Armijo High) Anderson via his 23 points and 21 rebounds.

* Diablo Valley College 79 - Cosumnes River College 76 box

For DVC, Jelani (Freedom High) Hardaway finished with 23 points (three treys), Joe (De La Salle High) McNiss 12 (also three treys) and Rico (Half Moon Bay High) Nuno tallied11 points.

For CRC, Mitchell (Burbank High) Love led with 23 points, including 4-7 from long distance with Donald (Center High) Mims posting a 15 point, seven board, three blocked shot line. He finished 6-7 from the floor.

* College of Marin 85 - Contra Costa College 79

From the MIJ:

Pierre Carter led five players in double figures with 17 points to help guide the College of Marin men's basketball team to an 85-79 home win against Contra Costa.

Lucas Chavez added 15 points while George Johnson (14), Miller Blake (13) and Willie Rooks (11) also reached double digits in scoring. The Mariners (11-2, 2-0) built a 14-point lead by halftime on the strength of a solid outing by the second unit.

"Contra Costa is a good team," COM coach Dave Granucci said. "They played extremely hard and are very, very physical. ... In the second half, we didn't have same energy we needed to have and they got back in the game. We ended up making enough plays down the stretch to seal the win."

From CCC Men's Basketball: "The Comets dropped a close one to #11 Marin College 84-79 last night. After digging themselves a 15 point hole early the Comets battled back but couldn't quite close the deal. G Dawson Johnson led the Comets with 25 pts, 4 rebs, and 3 asts. G Tajai Johnson added 12, pts, 7 rebs, and 2 assists..."

Merritt College 83 - Napa Valley College 70

Six players scored in double figures for the Thunderbirds: Leo (Oakland Tech) Smith with 19 points, Jamelle (Castlemont High) Corbino 15, Denzel (McClymonds High) Bellot 13, Jovantae (El Cerrito High) Carlton and D.J. (Pittsburg High) Kennedy with 12 apiece and Travon King 10.  Kennedy also added 10 rebounds and five assists.
