Gregg Rosenberg hoops items

Gregg Rosenberg writes for the Rivals Arizona Varsity site and offered these items on some Bay Area prospects who played in a tournament this weekend in the Grand Canyon State:

"Standout Varsity Performance:

* 6-foot-4 SF 2020 Kyree Walker (MC)

23 points 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Walker is a grown kid. He is one of the strongest freshman I’ve seen since Shadow Mountain star Carlos Johnson. He attacks almost every possession with a tight handle. He doesn’t have an elite skill set yet but he plays so hard on every possession. He struggles shooting consistently from anywhere outside the paint, but makes shots. He is more of a volume shooter currently but his toughness and motor make you like him.

* 6-foot-2 PG 2017 Damari Milstead (MC)

24 points 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

Milstead is a bigger lead guard who loves to attack. He likes the mid-range pull-up but he struggled in this game anywhere outside of the paint. He was 0-5 from the 3pt line but grabbed many rebounds and played hard.

+++++++

Standout Varsity Performance:

* 6-foot-4 SF 2020 Kyree Walker (Moreau Catholic)

27 points 9 rebounds and 2 assists.

-Walker plays really hard. He may not be the most skilled player but gets the most out of his body, He is an explosive athlete who can handle it easily, but after awhile, you figure out you can lay off him and force him to shoot it. He can hit the occasional 3pt shot.

* 6-foot-3 PG 2017 Damari Milstead (Moreau Catholic)

20 points 2 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals.

-Milstead had a better showing today. He got to the rack with a bunch of floaters and crafty finishes. He hit a couple deep shots but he still needs to show growth as a shooter.

+++++++

* 6-foot-5 SF 2017 Alfred Hollins (Hillcrest)

17 points and 7 rebounds.

-Hollins is a long and lean defender on the perimeter plus he can hit the 3pt shot off the catch. He can slash a little to the basket but he doesn’t create his own shot very often."
