Looking at Cañada College

Cañada College sits at 12-4 at the beginning of conference play and with a five-game winning streak. Five Colts (hey, the Bay Area Fab Five?) are averaging in double-figures scoring with their numbers tightly bunched.

The rollout: Antony (San Lorenzo High) Navarette leads at 14.0 points a night followed by William Green at 13.5. Mick (Newark Memorial High/West Georgia) Pinkney is scoring at an 11.6 clip with Davis (Hayward High) Kimble at 10.6 and 10.4 from Keith (Gateway High) Dickerson.

A trio of Colts are averaging more than three assists a contest: Kimble 3.4 with Pickney and Green registering at 3.1.

Despite not having much in the way of size (6-foot-5 as the tallest), Cañada is out-rebounding opponents thus far at 40.9 to 29.3 while garnering a very healthy 12.4 boards a game.

This is both a newcomer dominated squad and one loaded with freshman.12-4 (two of those losses to Yuba) is quite the achievement when the blending of new talents is still a work-in-progress.
