Humboldt State gave it a go on Tuesday versus UC San Diego but lost by six, 78-72 in La Jolla, as Tyras (Sheldon High) Rattler Jr. fell just short of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. San Diego led 46-32 at the half before the Jacks closed the lead.
The Tritons now advance to the semi-finals of the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament.
