Humboldt falls to Pomona

On Wednesday, host Humboldt State fell 66-54 to Cal Poly Pomona.

Deaundry (Yuba College) Robinson scored seven points, grabbed six boards and nabbed a trio of steals for the Lumberjacks. Cody (Yuba College) Kale didn't score but passed for four assists in 19 minutes.

Humboldt State enjoyed success Monday night, topping Menlo College 74-59 in Arcata.

Deaundry (Yuba College) Robinson contributed nine points and three steals in 12 minutes of action. In 10 minutes of court time, Tom (Arcata High) Witzel totaled eight points and five boards.

Humboldt falls to Arizona

Humboldt State went in Tucson to face Pac-12 favorite Arizona and the final score was 108-67. A pair of transfers from Yuba Colege, Deaundry Robinson and Cody Kale, totaled 12 (4-6 shooting) and 11 (5-6 shooting) respectively for the Lumberjacks.

Humboldt State bid adieu to a trio of seniors

Humboldt State finished 22-8 this past season, 15-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, and a trifecta of northern California talents dotted the Lumberjack roster -- each a senior who is graduating.

* Scott (Ohlone JC) Clark, senior: 12.3 points per game and second on the squad in steals with 44, he shot 44% overall, 34% from long distance

* D.J. (Castro Valley High) Broome, senior: led the team with 98 assists and 57 steals and also grabbed 3.1 rebounds a game despite his 5-foot-5 height

* Kyle (El Camino High) Baxter, senior: averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 boards a game, along with 72 assists and a team-leading 26 blocked shots

Another Humboldt State signee

Humboldt State has signed backcourter Brandon Woods out of Citrus College. He's a 6-foot-2 SoCal native who redshirted the 2009-10 season and played as a freshman in this recently concluded one.

Woods averaged 8.2 points and 2.5 rebounds for Citrus in 2011-12, plus he passed for 154 assists in 30 games.

Humboldt State nabs a prep guard

6-foot-3 guard Brandon Delong, out of Spanish Springs High in Reno, has committed to Humboldt State. He averaged 20.3 points per game last season.

Chico State 75, Humboldt State 68

It seems like they tangle about every week now and Humboldt State versus Chico State was spotlighted on the marquee again tonight in Bellingham, Washington as the two teams paired up as the #4 and #5 seeds respectively in the NCAA Division II West Region Championships.

It was 28-27 Chico after the initial 20 minutes and the Wildcats added six more points to the lead in the second half. Indicating the closeness of the evenly matched teams, CSU shot 50% overall to Humboldt's 49%.

Jay Flores led the winners with 18 points plus six assists, Amir Carraway and Jordan Semple each totaled 14 points and Jordan Barton scored 11.

For the Lumberjacks, Randy Hunter post a 16/12 double-double and Brandon Sperling went for 15 and nine.

Humboldt and Chico to meet yet again

Humboldt wins CCAA tournament

It was Humboldt State over Chico State 89-76 in the championship game of the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. Humboldt's win earned the Lumberjacks a berth in the NCAA Division II West Region Championships.
