JC scores from Friday

* Cabrillo College 63 - Monterey Peninsula College 44 boxscore

From the Cabrillo College Basketball site:
The Cabrillo Men's Basketball Team headed south for their first road contest in league play to take on Monterey Peninsula College. Behind another strong effort from Warren Jackson, Latrell Wilson and Allen Wilcher Cabrillo cruised to a 63-44 victory. Leading 27-15 with three minutes before the half Monterey went on a run to cut the lead to 29-23 at the break.

Cabrillo would come out strong as Jackson would score four quick points to push the lead to double figures and the Seahawks would never look back. Another very balanced effort saw three Seahawks in double figures with Wilcher collecting his 5th double double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds, Jackson had 12 points and 6 rebounds, Wilson added 11 points 7 rebounds and 4 assists. On a night when Cabrillo did not shoot the ball particularly well they were able to attack the basket all night long and get great looks around the rim.

The win improves Cabrillo to 11-6 on the season and to 2-0 in the Coast Conference South. Up next for Cabrillo is a big showdown with San Jose City College next Friday night at 5:00 p.m.
