A shout out to the Cal Maritime Keelhaulers

Kudos to all involved in the Cal Maritime basketball program:
Cal Maritime topped William Jessup in the final game of the regular to win the California Pacific Conference title. The Keelhaulers traveled to Rocklin, Calif., and ran into a fired-up Warriors team looking to satisfy their homecoming fans on Senior Night. But Maritime was able to pull away in the second half to earn the No. 1 seed in the Cal Pac Championship Tournament, which begins March 1 at Menlo College.

Cal Maritime finished 11-1 in the conference (24-5 overall), sweeping the other three playoff teams in their final three games. The Keelhaulers, ranked No. 17 in the NAIA national poll, will play No. 4 seed Menlo (6-6 in conference, 9-17 overall) in two weeks, and No. 2 Jessup (9-3, 15-11) will play No. 3 Simpson (9-3, 11-19).
All tournament games will be played at Menlo. The first round will be played on Saturday, March 1, with the winners of the two games playing for the championship on Monday, March 3. Game times for Saturday have not been finalized, but will be published this week.
