Hayes nabs MVP honors

Santa Rosa Junior College guard Matt Hayes, just a freshman, has been named the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year. The 6-footer averaged 15.6 points per game this season, shooting a remarkable 45%, 45% and 84% respectively.
