JC scores from Friday

* Cabrillo College 83 - Gavilan College 50

From the Cabrillo College Men's Basketball page:
Two nights after suffering a tough loss at the hands of DeAnza, Cabrillo was able to bounce back and hammer a visiting Gavilan team to end its regular season on a high note and sending sophomores Cody Love, Jake Harrell, David Abittan, Laron Counce and AJ Wright home with a victory in their final home game. Warren Jackson continued to play at a high level and finished with 27 points to lead all scorers including 21 in the first half before taking a seat and enjoying his teammates getting into the action.

The Seahawks started slow trading baskets early with Gavilan until their pressure began to bother the Rams, Cabrillo forced 18 turnovers in the first half and would convert the majority of them into easy scores. They would end the half on a 47-18 run and never look back.

The 2nd half saw Cabrillo coast with the lead getting to as many as 38 points before the final horn sounded and the Seahawks finished with an 83-50 win. Jackson's 27 led the Seahawks, Allen Wilcher had 13 points, Abittan finished with 12 and Latrell Wilson added 11.

The win improves Cabrillo to 19-8 on the season and 10-2 in conference play. Up next for Cabrillo will be a playoff game next Friday or Saturday. Seeding for the state tournament will take place on Monday morning so stay tuned to see where Cabrillo will be playing next.
