Bright to become a Gael

From Steve Kroner/The Chronicle:
Sources have confirmed that Stanford point guard Aaron Bright will transfer to St. Mary's and be eligible next season.

Bright, a senior, dislocated his right shoulder during a Thanksgiving Day practice. He is recuperating from surgery. He played in only seven games this season, making him eligible for a medical redshirt.

He averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 assists per game this season. After he graduates in June, Bright will transfer to the Moraga campus. As part of the graduate-transfer rule, the MVP of the 2012 NIT does not have to sit out a season.

The timing is right for the Gaels: Point guard Stephen Holt is a senior, and there is no heir apparent to Holt on the active roster.
