Gerry Freitas on his Nor Cal Clash event

After falling behind 11-2 the class of 2015 (seniors) came roaring back to take a 25-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. They never looked back and never trailed again in defeating the class of 2016 (juniors) 114-100 in the sixth annual Nor Cal Clash Sunday afternoon at Contra Costa College in San Pablo. The seniors now lead the all-time series 4-2.

Bishop O'Dowd's Paris Austin was selected player of the game by the media and scouts in attendance. Austin had 18 points, an impressive 8 rebounds and 8 assists, consistently penetrating in the lane and making plays in the leading the seniors to victory.

The seniors were lead in scoring by Washington-bound Marquese Chriss of Pleasant Grove with 23 points. Chriss also had 8 rebounds. Pacific-bound Anthony Townes of Modesto Christian had a solid performance with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the class of 2015. Armani Collins of Stuart hall chipped in with 18 points and Woodcreek's Noah Blackwell added 17 for the seniors.

El Cerrito's Carlos Johnson lead the class of 2016 and all scorers in the game with 31 points in an impressive all-around scoring display. Johnson also had 7 rebounds. Jordan Ford of Folsom had 18 points and 8 rebounds while Sacramento's Christian Terrell added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the juniors.
