Marysville & River Valley nab victories

"LINDHURST BLAZER HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Marysville 70, Mira Loma 62

Erik Scheive played just two scoreless minutes in the first half due to foul trouble before erupting for 23 points in the second to guide the Indians to a victory over the Matadors in the semifinals of the 11th annual Lindhurst Blazer Holiday Classic.

Scheive added 10 rebounds and three blocks, Danny Lewis netted 10 points, seven assists and four steals, and Cornell Greenwood dropped in 12 points and came away with five steals for Marysville.

The Indians are a perfect 13-0 on the year and will play Highlands for the tournament title at 5:30 p.m today."

"Parker Lowe's monstrous output led the River Valley High boys basketball team to a 81-76 victory over host Rio Linda in the Tri-County Conference opener on Tuesday night.

The Falcons' senior guard shredded the Knights to the tune of 34 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals as River Valley improved to 8-7 overall and 1-0 in TCC play..."
