Stanislaus snags a local pair of backcourters

5-foot-9 Weston Ranch High backcourter Jaelen Ragsdale has given his commitment to Cal State Stanislaus. He averaged 21.0 points per game last season.

From Thomas Lawrence on the Weston Ranch High squad: "...This team should have some balance. But really, the spotlight is on incoming senior guard Jaelen Ragsdale, and how he can cap an already impressive high school career. Ragsdale, a first-team All-Area guard, averaged around 20 points per game, and was an exceptional deep shooter, slasher to the basket and offensive and defensive playmaker. He’s one of the top All-Area Player of the Year candidates for 2015-16, and he’ll have to be a vocal leader and the heart and soul of this now more-experienced crew..."

Also, fellow WRH guard 6-foot-2 Fred Lavender did likewise. He scored 13.1 points an outing in 2014-15.
