Jon Rothstein on St. Mary's

Jon Rothstein:

"If you love efficient offense, you'll love Saint Mary's. Gaels shot 50 percent from the field last year and 40 percent from 3. Crisp."

and

"Early prediction on Saint Mary's starting five: Emmett Naar, Joe Rahon, Calvin Hermanson, Evan Fitzner, Dane Pineau."

and

"The sleeper piece at Saint Mary's is freshman point guard Jordan Ford. Gives Gaels another capable ball handler. Borderline Top-100 kid."

Plus, St Mary's Hoops:

"Team Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί. The Gaels have 7 Aussies on the roster this season!"

++++++++

How does any team shoot 50% overall nowadays? It wasn't due to loading up on nobodies as the Gaels shot .494 in West Coast Conference play. Coach Bennett's guys lived at home during non-league play but still.

With Emmett Naar totaling 223 assists and Joe Rahon 189, it will be interesting to see how much time Jordan Ford gets at the point. Hard to see him at shooting guard with the present Gael roster.
