"The Cabrillo College Seahawks opened the 2016-17 campaign tonight with an impressive 83-62 win in the second game of the Cabrillo Tip-off Tournament in Aptos, CA. Cabrillo (1-0) opened up a 15 lead midway thru the first half only to see Redwoods (0-1) fight back and close the gap 38-31 at halftime.
In what was a game of runs the Seahawks went on a 17-2 run to close the game out.
Linton Acliese lead the Seahawks in scoring with 19 points. Tynan Velasquez and Tanner Spence both had 11 points. Brett Reed scored 10 and Amenofis Mitchell and Shaq Floyd each had 9 respectively to round out Cabrillo's balanced scoring attack.
Next the Seahawks will take on Shasta College at 5:00pm on Sunday to finish the Tip-off Classic..."
