CCCAA tidbits

Yes, it's very early in the season but here are some notables:

* 5-foot-11 freshman Demarre (Vanden High) Walker of Chabot College leads the state in scoring with 31.5 points per game. He's followed by another frosh, Irvine Valley's Lance (St. Mary's-Stockton) Coleman II at 27 points and Eric (Cosumjnes Oaks High) Toles of Sierra College is third at 22 points per contest.

* In rebounding, 6-foot-4 freshman Darae Elliott of Butte College is grabbing 12.9 boards a night.

* Ls Positas College big Donald Mims and Elliott have both blocked 11 shots an outing, the leading number to date.

* Freshman guard Matt McAndrews of Foothill College has started strong with 20.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds a game. He's shooting 51%, 50% and 82% respectively.

* Skyline College's Antonio (Lowell High) Hughes has also burst out of the gate with 17.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest and the 6-foot-3 sophomore is shooting 53%, 58% and 57% respectively.

* Erik (Montgomery High) Poulson of Santa Rosa Junior College is scoring 18.0 points and nabbing 7.8 boards a night. At 6-foot-11, he's shooting 56%, 53% and 75%.
