Chico State began the new season with a matchup against Concordia - Irvine and grabbed a four-point, 65-61 comeback victory. Senior wing Robert (Granite Bay High) Duncan scored 22 points in 29 minutes and Justin (River City High) Briggs just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. He shot 6-6 overall and also rejected five shot attempts.
The Wildcats 'enjoyed' 22 turnovers to just 12 for Concordia.
