Lassen making a move

Lassen College stands 6-4 and, thanks to a three game winning streak powered by winning the Mendocino tournament, the Cougars have posted four victories in a row.

In the Mendocino tourney, Lassen beat Modesto College 78-60 in the first round, took down Skyline College 77-57 in the round two and the topped #1 ranked Las Positas College 103-90 for the championship.

Danny Spinuzza was named Mendocino tournament Most Valuable Player with Bruno Castillo and Kenny Macklin earning All-Tournament Team status.

Coach Will Freedman doesn't necessarily have a star player so it's again a matter of success via solid efforts from multiple team members. Damien (American River College) Trujillo leads the Cougars with 11.4 points per game followed by Kenny (Ponderosa High) Macklin at 11.0. Danny Spinuzza is providing 8.6 points an outing, Cameron Brown 8.3 and Colby Johnson 8.2. Uwana Ekiko is scoring 7.3 points followed by 7.1 from Jason Moore and Bruno Castillo's 6.2.
