On Monday at the Golden One Center in Sacramento, San Diego State got past California 77-65 as the Aztecs led 42-25 at halftime. Malik (Laguna Creek High) Pope returned to action and scored 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. He shot 6-10, 0-1, 2-3 respectively. Teammate Dakarai (Sheldon High) Allen added six points plus six rebounds.
For Cal, Ivan (Bishop O'Dowd) Rabb also returned to the court and produced a 19 point, 11 board double-double and two blocked shots. Jabari (Salesian High) Bird did not play due to injury.
