A Lassen College update

Lassen College participated in the Modesto Junior College tournament over the weekend and finished 2-1.

The opening game was a 74-64 loss to Cosumnes River College.

Game two was a matchup with the host team and Lassen downed Modesto Junior College 81-73.

Sunday's pairing was with #4 Ohlone College and the Cougars grabbed a 66-63 victory in the consolation championship game.

Ohlone is the second Top 5 team Lassen has this year. On November 19, the Cougars bested Las Positas College which was ranked #1 at the time.

6-foot-4 freshman Kenny (Ponderosa High) Macklin was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 15 points per game during the three games.

Coach Will Freedman and his crew are off until facing off with Feather River College on January 4. The Cougars' record is now 10-7.
