On thw west side of the bay Thursday, Stanford defeated California 73-68. For the Bears, Jabari (Salesian Prep) Bird just missed a double-double with 23 points and nine boards. He shot 7-12 from three-point range. Teammate Ivan (Bishop O'Dowd) Rabb provided 16 points plus 13 rebounds.
