Friday: Yuba 113, Mendocino 79

Appeal-Democrat: "The Yuba College men's basketball team closed out the first 16-0 Bay Valley Conference finish in program history and captured its state-best 17th straight win with a convincing 113-79 road victory over Mendocino on Friday night.

With Highway 20 washed out, it took the 49ers 41⁄2 hours to make their way to Ukiah, but once they arrived, Jourdan Johnson quickly stole the show.

In his first game in four weeks after suffering an ankle injury, Johnson knocked down four 3-pointers while scoring 18 of his game-high 26 points in the first half to help Yuba overcome an early eight-point deficit.

Erik Scheive helped the cause with 20 points, Brandon Ruaro scored 15, Jalen Davis added 11, and Josh Dhatt and Jihad Woods both chipped in with 10 in the victory..."
