Appeal-Democrat: "The 49ers moved a step closer to wrapping up the BVC title by overwhelming the Comets in the second half to earn their 12th straight victory.
Yuba came out sloppy at the start and led just 26-23 at halftime before coming to life in the second to hold Contra Costa to only 43 points in what was the 49ers' best defensive effort of the season.
"We just didn't play very smart in the first half," Yuba coach Doug Cornelius said. "We smartened up in the second half a little bit and started making shots."
Jihad Woods scored a team-high 13 points, Erik Scheive added 12 and Brandon Ruaro finished with 10 to lead the 49ers.
Standout point guard Jaaron Stallworth, who had been out for 44 days with a broken foot, returned to the lineup and chipped in with nine points off the bench in his first game back..."
