Record Searchlight: "Simpson University's men's basketball team beat the University of Antelope Valley 87-81 Thursday night at The Grant Center.
The Red Hawks led 39-37 at half and never trailed the rest of the way. Simpson forced 23 turnovers compared to committing 13 of its own, and shot 22 of 28 from the free-throw line in the game.
Sean Smith scored a game-high 26 points on 8 of 12 shooting and 7 of 7 from the line. Justin Beskeen scored 16, Alex Huerta added 16 with a team-high seven rebounds and five assists, and Jalen Cooper pitched in with 12 points..."
