Wednesday: Cabrillo College 77, Cosumnes River 75

"Linton Acliece scored a team-high 22 points, Amenofis Mitchell added 20, and the No. 17 Cabrillo College men’s basketball team took to the road and topped No. 16 Cosumnes River 77-75 on Wednesday in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association’s Northern California regional playoffs.

Brett Reed added 12 points for the Seahawks (20-7), who last week won the Coast Conference South for the eighth time in 11 years.

Tynan Valesquez provided 11 points in the win, which advances Cabrillo to the second round. The Seahawks will visit top-seeded City College of San Francisco (26-2) on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The two teams met earlier this season, with San Francisco earning an 80-61 win at home. The Seahawks led at halftime despite missing their starting point and shooting guards, however, before CCSF pulled away."
